Q: What do you accept for consignment?
A: We consign used sports equipment that has not suffered any serious or structural damage. Wear and tear is natural, however we maintain a high standard so that second-hand users can enjoy their purchases for seasons to come.
Q: When can I consign my items?
A: We are able to accept items for consignment throughout the day, however all equipment and apparel are subject to our seasonal consignment rules.
Q: How is a price chosen?
A: Within reason, customers are able to chose their own starting price for their items. Our staff are always happy to suggest a starting point or advise customers based on current stock.
Q: How does your pricing system work?
A: Cheapskates utilizes a unique pricing system with automatic 20% bi-weekly discounts. Consignors are free to reclaim their items at any point should they wish to.
Q: What if my item’s price becomes too low or reduces to zero?
A: Customers are free to reclaim their items from our store at any time during the 10 week selling period. Please be aware that if you DO NOT reclaim your item before the 10 weeks are up, any items that remain unsold will be dealt with as we see fit, generally by donation or picked up for free by a customer.
Q: How do I get paid?
A: Cheapskates will send a cheque to customers that have sold items through us at the end of the month in which their item has sold. Customers receive 50% of the sale price.
Q: How can I pay for purchases?
A: We accept all major credit cards, debit cards, and cash.
Q: What if I would like to give away my equipment for free?
A: As long as items are seasonally appropriate and in good enough condition to sell, we are happy to give the proceeds from any donated items to the Greater Vancouver Food Bank
